Reasons Why You Should Travel To Morocco | Travel Tips | Morocco | Travel 2019 |
I was one of those people who never saw the beautiful side of Morocco, as a Moroccan I forgot how beautiful my country was..
1. The Architecture is stunning
Ornate geometric patterns, thousands upon thousands of intricately placed tiles, and majestic archways, the cities such as Fez, Marrackech, Meknes, Rabat and Casablanca host some of the best examples of Islamic and Moorish architecture, and each will captive you.

2. Accommodation like you never seen before.
If there is one singular reason which should make YOU come to Morocco, then it's the spectacular and unique accommodation. A riad which means garden in Arabic, is a beautiful, serene oasis of cool calm in contrast to the medinas in the city. All have central courtyard, often have a small pool or fountain, with guest rooms dotted around the various floors, and are filled with delightful designs features and decorations all over. They really do capture the spirit and aesthetic of that wonderful Moroccan architecture.

3. Culture
So much is different, and as you navigate the medinas of a thousand narrow streets, it can feel like you have been transported to a different world a time. Isn't this an experience for which we all travel? Aside from its deeply religious roots and visible traditions, wondering around souks (markets) and medinas (old town areas) Be curious, be intrepid and be sure to put yourself out of your comfort zone.

4. Shopping, shopping and more shopping.
Moroccan souks are special places, frantic and frenetic, where you can jostle, hustle and haggle. Within these markets, filled to the brim with stalls selling ceramics, leather goods, carpets, textiles, spices, jewellery, lamps, shoes and everything in between, you will get lost and you will have to resit your urge to buy absolutely everything - It's vibrant, colourful and some great deals can be found.
5. Food glorious food
Morocco is known to have some of the world's exotic and delicious cuisines. From Tagine (dish cooked in earthenware pot) to fish chermoula, to harrira (traditional soup) This country is a delight for every food lover!
6. Moroccan Mint Tea
Whilst in Morocco, you can never escape the charm of Morocco's mint tea with delicious pastries! Tea is served everywhere you go and has the same taste.

7. Friendly people
Moroccan people are generally hospitable, friendly and welcoming. Tourism is a big industry and there can be pressure on travellers but if you can get past, you have some lovely experiences meeting people. Moroccans are easy to talk to and love small talks, so it is easy to learn about the culture and country through a relaxed conversation.

8. Stunning Scenery
If you are planning in visiting Morocco, I strongly recommend getting out to the countryside. Whether you drive or take a bus tour, you will be wowed by the beauty of mountains and coast.

9. The Ocean
Essaouira, Taghazout, Agadir, Safi and Mileft are a few popular coastal towns in Morocco that you can visit for surfing, swimming and soaking n the sun. There is also amazing coastal areas in Tangier and Tetouen which is an easier route to travel too, make sure you eat a lot of amazing seafood whilst you are in coast. Prepare yourself from the wind that barrels in from the ocean and enjoy the relaxed vibes of the lazy surf towns.
10. The insight of Islam
Islam is the main religion in Morocco, and the religious traditions reveal themselves in their daily life. Mosques, are the places of worships for Muslims, can be found in every single town, from the magnificent one of the higher towns to the simple, modest ones in the poorer towns.
11. Everything is affordable.
Morocco is a great country for backpacking or travelling on a budget. The cost of living is relatively cheap, and you can still indulge in some fun tours and activities.
If you are planning to travel to Morocco alone and fear is terrifying you; I highly recommend using the App ''Couchsurf'' where you can meet the locals and they can either host you or keep you company. The app is free of charge and secure. *
